Welcome to PermitPop (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a DMV permit test preparation application operated by RetenzAI. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the PermitPop website located at permitpop.ai and all related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete that information.
Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may use the Service with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By allowing your child to use PermitPop, you agree to these Terms on their behalf.
To access certain features, you may need to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- Not share your account credentials with others
- Not create multiple accounts for the same person
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
PermitPop offers paid plans as one-time purchases. There are no recurring subscriptions or automatic renewals. All prices are listed in US Dollars and are subject to change with notice.
- Basic ($19.99): One-time purchase for one state's question bank.
- Pro ($29.99): One-time purchase for your state, including AI-powered explanations, index cards, video lessons, parent dashboard, and the Pass Guarantee.
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your credit card information on our servers. By making a purchase, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method provided.

Our Pass Guarantee is available exclusively to Pro plan users. To qualify for a full refund under the Pass Guarantee, you must meet all of the following criteria:
- Complete all study modules: You must complete every study module available for your selected state.
- Score 85% or higher on 3 consecutive full-length practice tests: These must be complete, timed practice tests taken within the PermitPop app — not partial quizzes.
- Study at least 5 of the last 7 days before your test date: Active study sessions must be logged in the app during at least 5 of the 7 calendar days immediately preceding your scheduled DMV test.
If you meet all three criteria and fail your actual DMV permit test, you are eligible for a full refund. You must submit your claim within 30 days of your test failure, along with proof of failure (a DMV failure receipt or equivalent official documentation). PermitPop provides practice questions and study materials based on publicly available state DMV driver handbooks and manuals. While we strive for accuracy and regularly update our content:
- Our questions are not guaranteed to be identical to those on your actual DMV permit test.
- DMV regulations and test formats may change without notice, and there may be a delay before our content reflects those changes.
- PermitPop is a supplemental study tool and should be used alongside your state's official driver handbook.
PermitPop is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any state Department of Motor Vehicles or government agency.
All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, software, and the compilation thereof — are the exclusive property of RetenzAI or its licensors and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access or extract content
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights
- Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any harmful code
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Share, redistribute, or publicly post PermitPop content or practice questions
- Use the Service for any purpose other than personal, non-commercial study
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect, including Sections 7, 10, 11, 12, and 13.
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@permitpop.ai.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any defects will be corrected. We do not guarantee that you will pass your DMV permit test, even if you achieve a high score on PermitPop practice tests — the Pass Guarantee is a refund policy, not a guarantee of test results.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL RETENZAI, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:
- Your access to or use of (or inability to use) the Service
- Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service
- Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content
- Your failure to pass a DMV permit test
Our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless RetenzAI and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any third-party rights.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in Delaware, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, sending you an email notification. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
